Spring Migration Count (PAMC) for Westmoreland County

MAY

This project was started by the Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology and is run during spring migration in early May. Dick Byers on-boarded the club in 1994. Ever since the club and non-club members have completed a bird count of the county every year since. You know the area that they love and know inside and out and where the birds hang out. This is your opportunity to contribute to the citizen science of the birding world. Pick your area and let the leader know or you can start by giving the leader your name and be assigned a territory. As an example, my wife and I do Keystone State Park, New Alexandra Area up to Loyalhanna boat launch on Bush Road. Other teams do other areas. Home Feeder watch are great! Anyone can participate from a feeder to a field surveyor. All observations are entered into eBird. The WBNC count is coordinated by PAMC & Bushy Run CBC leaders listed in the WBNC Syrinx newsletter.
