Murrysville Community Park Wetlands Walk and Presentations

Directions:  Going west into Murrysville on Rt. 22 past Applebee’s, turn right at the first light onto Cline Hollow Road just before the Rite Aid.  Follow Cline Hollow Road 1.7 miles to Hills Church Road.  Turn left and continue on Hills Church Road 0.4 miles to where you’ll bear straight ahead onto Weistertown Road.  Continue straight ahead 1.1 miles and turn right into the wetlands parking lot.  

Description: Join Murrysville’s Purple Martin landlord Susan Miller and Zachary Killeen of the PA Game Commission for informative nature programs at the Murrysville Community Park! Zachary Killeen of the Pennsylvania Game Commission will give us an update on the increase or decrease of each of the Mammal species in the area. Susan and Zachary will also discuss Bluebirds and Zachary will  offer free bluebird boxes. Tom Kuehl, PA Bird Atlas Regional Coordinator, will discuss the ongoing PA Bird Atlas. Susan will give a brief update on the purple martin nest colony on the site and if possible, she will show baby martins while demonstrating a nest change.  The talks may be followed by a walk around the loop trail of the wetlands area.
