Description: The Powdermill site is known for its incredible diversity of birds that stop over during spring and fall migrations, having been designated as Important Bird Area #24. Should there be an Open House scheduled at the neighboring Powdermill Avian Research Center (PARC), we can tour it with the general public and participate in their intriguing Bird Banding Demo. Following the banding demo, we will caravan to the Blair Brother’s Railroad Trail only a few minutes’ drive to the south for a walk to search for fall migrants. Members will be notified via email if and when the Powdermill open house schedule is confirmed.
